This article explains how to manage folder permissions for teams in Flite.

You will often need to give different members of your organization different access rights to various resources. For example, an ad designer should have the ability to edit ad creative. However, an ad performance analyst should only have the ability to view the ad and its associated metrics, but not to edit the ad. Permissions allow you to do this.

Permissions are assigned at the team-folder level and are given to all users of that team and all items within that folder. For instance, if you give a team Edit permissions for a particular folder, all users within that team will have Edit permissions on all ads in that folder.

Here is an overview of the different permissions and what they allow the users to do:

Permission

Let's take a look at an example of how you can manage folders, teams and permissions. Say you are an advertiser managing an upcoming campaign called Upcoming Campaign. In order to do this, you place all the ads and other resources for this campaign in an Upcoming Campaign folder:

Let's say you have 5 team members who will be involved with this campaign: John, Jane, Jack, Judy and Josh. Jane is the manager of the team, so she needs to have the Full level of permission for the Upcoming Campaign folder. John and Jack's jobs are to analyze the performance of the ads, so they only need View permission. Judy and Josh are designers who build and edit ads, so they need Edit permission. In order to do this, you would set up the following teams:

Managers  > Jane

Performance > John, Jack

Designers > Judy, Josh

Then, drag each team onto your Upcoming Campaign folder. When you drag a team onto a folder, that team will be assigned the View permission by default:

Next, click on the Upcoming Campaign folder and then on the Permissions button. Assign the Full permission to the Managers team, the Edit permission to the Designers team, and the View permission to the Performance team. Drag the sliders next to each team to the appropriate permission level:

Finally, click the Apply Changes button at the bottom of the permissions screen. Your changes will not save without this step:

And you are done assigning permissions to the Upcoming Campaign folder!
