Video: Hosted Video Asset

How to upload and create a video asset.

Getting Started

You can now upload a video into Flite via the Asset Manager. We'll then create the video as an asset which you can use across all of your creatives. When a video is uploaded, we send that through our transcoding process which ensures that the video will work across all modern browsers and devices.

Uploading

There are a few ways to get a video into Flite. The quickest and simplest way is to drag and drop onto the console.

Make New Asset - You can also use Make New Item -> Asset -> Hosted Video. This is the traditional workflow but it does give you the ability to set a poster image at the asset level.

Component - Hosted video assets work in conjunction with the Hosted Video Component. You can create a video asset from the component as well. Click here to check out the component.

Publishing Video Assets

If you've uploaded a video and processing has completed, yet you are not seeing the video in your ad, chances are you have an unpublished video asset. No matter how you upload your video asset into Flite, the video asset must be published once processing/transcoding completes. Saving the asset kicks off the transcoding process. Upon completion, we give you an opportunity to review the newly transcoded video, which is why a publish is required before use.
