Some of these panels contain the same information regardless of what Section you are in, some contain different information for each section, and still others are only available in particular sections. Below is an overview of each panel, with links to more information on each one.\n\n* **Inspector (:fa-info-circle:, Ctrl+2):** Contextual editor for various settings and parameters. Depending on the section you are in and the selected item, the appropriate settings are displayed. For more on what the Inspector panel does in each section, refer to the appropriate section’s documentation.\n * **[Source Section Inspector:](doc:component-studio-source-section)** Top-level component settings like SWF file, component dimensions, dependencies used, and documentation.\n * **[Settings Section Inspector:](doc:component-studio-settings-section)** The properties of the component parameter (setting or group) selected in the Items panel.\n * **[Layer Structure Section Inspector:](doc:component-studio-layer-structure-section)** Depending on what is selected in the Items panel, this can be the general properties of a container or the cardinality properties of a part/component within a container. \n* **[Actions (:fa-bolt:, Ctrl+3):](doc:component-studio-actions-panel)** Configure custom actions and triggers on your component, allowing the component to react to user interactions and/or system events. The component will automatically have access to Design Studio’s standard actions & triggers.\n* **[Parts (:fa-cube:, Ctrl+4):](doc:component-studio-parts-panel)** Manage the parts used in your component. Parts are modular component building blocks allowing you to add more flexibility to your components.\n* **Help (:fa-question-circle:, Ctrl+/):** View this Component Studio documentation.\n* **Items (:fa-th-large:, Ctrl+1):** A hierarchical, selectable list of items contained in the component. \n * **[Settings Section Items Panel:](doc:component-studio-settings-section)** The full hierarchy of settings and groups contained in your component.\n * **[Layer Structure Section Items Panel:](doc:component-studio-layer-structure-section)** The component's layer structure, including all containers and the components/parts that can be added to each container.\n* **Parameter Types (Ctrl+5):** A library of Parameter Types that you can use for the settings and groups in your component. This panel only appears in the Settings Section.\n* **Component Preview (Ctrl+7):** A preview of the component with its default settings. This panel appears in the Settings Section and Layer Structure Section.\n* **Library (Ctrl+6):** A library of all existing components and component-specific parts available for use in your component’s layer structure. This panel only appears in the Layer Structure Section.","excerpt":"","slug":"component-studio-panels-overview","type":"basic","title":"Panels Overview"}
