A Part is a self-contained piece of a component, with its own settings. When you select a Part in the Parts panel, the Component Studio workspace context changes to display properties for that part. More specifically:\n\n * In the Source section, the Preview changes to show the part.\n * In the Settings section, the Items panel changes to show the settings for the part.\n * In the Layer Structure section, the Items panel changes to show the part’s layer hierarchy. \n[block:api-header]\n{\n \"type\": \"basic\",\n \"title\": \"Key Functionality\"\n}\n[/block]\n * Create a new part using the Make New button.\n * Duplicate a part using the :fa-files-o: icon.\n * Delete a part using the :fa-trash-o: icon.\n * Select a part to change the Component Studio workspace context to display that part.\n * To edit a part’s settings, mouse over the part and click the :fa-pencil-square: button. \n[block:api-header]\n{\n \"type\": \"basic\",\n \"title\": \"Part Settings\"\n}\n[/block]\n\n[block:image]\n{\n \"images\": [\n {\n \"image\": [\n \"https://www.filepicker.io/api/file/iu8weC05SQecCyEWGsvc\",\n \"partspanel-edit.jpg\",\n \"287\",\n \"397\",\n \"#5782a4\",\n \"\"\n ],\n \"caption\": \"Parts Panel: Settings\"\n }\n ]\n}\n[/block]\nThe following settings are available for each part.\n\n * **Label:** The part’s name; this is the name under which the part will appear in Design Studio, and elsewhere in the Component Studio.\n * **Description:** A brief description of the part that will appear in a tooltip when a user hovers over the part.\n * **Icon:** A 16x16 pixel image that you want to associate with this part. It will always appear next to the part's name.\n * **Override initial settings:** Check this box to override some of the part’s defaults.\n\n## Initial Settings Section \nThis section only appears if the *Override initial settings* checkbox is checked. It allows you to override some of the part’s default settings when it is first placed into a component.\n\n * **Position:** The X and Y position of the part with respect to the upper left corner of its parent layer.\n * Size: The initial width (W) and height (H) of the part.\n * **Visibility:** Toggles the part’s visibility in Design Studio’s Components panel.\n * **Overflow:** Toggles the part’s overflow property, which specifies whether the part’s content overflows its box. Select On if you want the part to be fully visible regardless of its width and height. Select Off if you only want the portion of the part within its dimensions to be visible.","excerpt":"","slug":"component-studio-parts-panel","type":"basic","title":"Parts Panel"}
